Red Ribbon Week Celebration

October 24, 2016

Windfern School of Choice will celebrate Red Ribbon Week Oct. 24th - 28th. This year’s theme is YOLO – You Only Live Once!

Started in 1985, the Red Ribbon Campaign began as a grass roots effort to honor Enrique (Kiki) Camarena, a Drug Enforcement Administration Agent who was tortured and killed in Mexico in 1985. To celebrate his life and commitment to making a difference, members of his community wore red satin ribbons in his memory. The Red Ribbon Campaign is now the largest and oldest drug prevention program in the nation.

Students are encouraged to sign the National Red Ribbon Campaign Pledge and be a part of the creation of a drug free America. Those who sign the pledge and wear the red ribbon will be eligible for prizes. Wear your ribbon and dress up to show your support for the Red Ribbon Campaign!
